We are currently seeking a Facilities Design Engineer to join our Engineering team.
Essential Functions:
The Facilities Design Engineer will work on all aspects of the conceptual and detailed design of engine test cell and wind tunnel facilities including structural, civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical. The position includes involvement during all phases of a project including proposal and bid, design, construction support, and equipment fabrication and installation.

Work as a team member in the conceptual and detailed layout and design development of ground test sites and facilities.

Work with CAD designers to produce specification and design drawings. Check and approve design drawings. Review and approve shop drawings.

Layout, design, specify, or select overhead cranes, special engine handling systems, structural components, and aero acoustic equipment for installation into the facilities.

Prepare detailed supporting calculations for all aero-acoustic equipment and support component designs.

Assist in the selection, specification, and integration of special process equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors, and cooling systems.

Conduct site surveys and support the construction, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of test facilities.

Assist the Marketing Group on proposal activities including review of customer specifications, conceptual layout of facilities, and development of ROM, budgetary, or fixed price costs of facilities. Assist in developing project schedules, writing proposals, and making technical presentations to customers.

Assist project managers and procurement in seeking out, qualifying, obtaining bids from, and providing managing support of A&E firms, construction companies, and subcontractors around the world who perform work for the company.

Interface as required with peers from other engineering disciplines that include Aerodynamic, Mechanical, and Controls & Instrumentation groups.

Perform work in line with project schedules and budgets.
Qualifications/Education:
The successful candidate will have:

BS or MS in Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.

5 to 10 years of applicable design experience.

Strong background in Structural engineering with a working knowledge of Architectural details.

Working knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical engineering or a willingness and desire to develop a working knowledge in those areas.

Experience with FEM modeling using RISA, ANSYS, or similar structural analysis and design programs.?

Familiarity with national building codes and design codes including UBC, BOCA, AISC, and ACI.?

Technical specification writing skills.?

Production proficiency in AutoCAD.?

Demonstrated ability to meet budgets and schedules.

PC skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.?

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, demonstrated initiative and attention to completeness, accuracy and detail.?

Willingness to travel for business - up to 20%.?

Licensed Professional Engineer.
Additional desired skills include:

Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, FM, and other applicable codes and standards.?

Experience with BIM systems such as Revit and/or Bentley. ?

Experience in construction cost estimating.
