Job Overview

Provide financial, internal control, operational, and compliance audits for the University. Provide recommendations and expert advice to management or other groups on process-related topics.After an initial training period of 3 months the Senior Auditor would have the opportunity to elect to work from home up to 2 days per week.

Essential Functions
  • Gather information on key business processes and evaluate the adequacy of the controls designed to manage those processes.
  • Plan larger audit or investigation projects of medium to high complexity using risk-based methodology.
  • Obtain, document, analyze, and appraise evidentiary data as a basis to form an opinion on the adequacy of internal controls and/or compliance with policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Make recommendations and obtain actions plans on audit issues.
  • Establish a good rapport with university personnel and cultivate, build, and maintain relationships.
  • May provide indirect supervision to exempt or nonexempt staff during the performance of an audit or investigation project (e.g., teaching them audit techniques).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education

Bachelor's Degree must be in accounting, finance or related field.

Required Trainings/Certifications

Certification as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Required Experience

Three (3) years of work experience in accounting, audit or professionally related field.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
