Electrical Engineer- Energy & Industry (REMOTE)

LHB has an immediate opportunity for a fully remote Electrical Engineer to join our Energy & Industry business unit.

This is a 100% remote position where you can work from home within the following states that LHB is licensed to do business: CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA MI, MN, MO, MS, ND, NE, OH, OK, PA, SD, TN, TX, WI, WY.

Position Summary

The responsibilities for this exempt position will include but are not limited to:

    Electrical engineering design & drafting for a variety of Pipeline/Industrial projects, including industrial electrical power distribution (high, medium, and low voltage), communications, lighting, equipment layouts, and site plans
  • Project management and project management assistance for a variety of Pipeline/Industrial projects, including single discipline electrical projects as well as multidisciplinary projects
  • Code review/interpretation, design calculations, and equipment selection (including working with equipment vendors and manufacturers)
  • Assist in developing design options for clients.
  • Work on teams of LHB engineers (multidisciplinary), project managers, drafters, and other staff
  • Work closely with clients to meet and exceed their objectives
  • Perform field verifications, identifying and organizing field data and applying to designs
  • Produce high quality professional documentation in accordance with LHB quality processes
  • Follow all LHB and client safe working practices when working in the office and in the field
  • Professional/career growth into a licensed engineer if not already

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 5+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer in MN or WI (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
  • Willing to travel intermittently for team/client meetings, project site visits, training, etc.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • Motivated individual with the ability to work productively with limited direction and supervision
  • Prior experience and/or interest in Pipeline and Industrial industry project design work
  • Project management as well as detailed design experience in both large and small projects

Salary Range

  • This position's anticipated base salary rage is $85,000-$105,000 annually. Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
