Cleveland Cliffs United Taconite, located in Eveleth and Forbes, Minnesota, is seeking applications for the position of Maintenance Mechanic Journeyperson for current and future job openings.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• The primary function of the position is to inspect, repair, dismantle, assemble,replace, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical equipment and structures in the mine, plant, or assigned area.
• Safety is of utmost importance and a primary focus at all times.
• Work may be in a shop environment or in the field.
• These positions may work a rotating schedule of 12 hour shifts to provide 24/7 coverage for the facility. There will be required overtime scheduling during scheduled rotations and during major repairs and/or emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• The successful candidate will have completed an accredited training or apprenticeship program in industrial maintenance or millwrights and have at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• The successful candidate must pass a craft written and practical maintenance mechanics job related factors test prior to job offer.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mining specific experience
• Industrial and/or plant experience

Successful candidates will need to pass a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen;background check, and otherpre-employment testing.
